This week’s prompt was “Food Photography” which is something that I unintentionally do a lot of, especially when I’m traveling. I take pictures of food a lot. They aren’t all the greatest picture, but they do exist.

For this time out, I wanted to try and capture something a little more intentional. And that’s when it dawned on me. The bread my husband has been baking. That’s what I wanted to photograph.

My husband has been very into bread making lately. He got into it around the holidays and has been working on perfecting his technique with some help from his dad in phone calls. I managed to capture his latest loaf as it came out of the oven to cool. I really like the lighting in this photo, even if it’s just from the overhead lighting of my kitchen and the shadow from the kitchen towel. I think it gives the photo a homey and rustic feel, which is exactly what I was going for.
