Good Afternoon Fair Readers,
I know this is the update for which you have all been waiting. Summer is about halfway over and I haven’t updated a whole lot. I apologize for my neglect, but it’s been rather busy on my end. You see, I am currently working at the Civil War Preservation Trust (CWPT) as their development intern, where I am helping to thwart Walmart in their attempts to build at the Wilderness Battlefield as well as doing general intern stuff. We are trying to save the historic battlefields, which is something that I’m very passionate about. I want to see this history preserved and I feel that by doing my part here at CWPT I’m making a difference.
I’m also working as a social media intern for a company based in Tennessee. They are called the Open Source Teaching Project and their goal is to teach students in underprivledged areas what opportunities are out their for them. Another wonderful cause.
So, you see. This summer is really about me supporting some of the causes that I feel very passionate about. However, this doesn’t mean that I haven’t done any films or taken any photographs. Certainly not! If I didn’t already write about it my film organization, Awkward Trio Productions, and I entered into the 48 Hour Film Project this year. While we didn’t win anything, we did finish on time and we had a whole lot of fun! I’ve also been doing a lot of freelance photography on my own. Both the photos and the 48 Hour Film will be posted here in due time.
However, while you are waiting for me to get my act together, here’s a really fun editorial I found in the New York Times. Hope you enjoy it! Freedom of speech is a cause I really do believe in. Also, if interested you should check out the documentary Shouting Fire in a Crowded Theater, it’s on freedom of speech and it’s really good.
I think that about wraps it up for now. I’ll updated soon, I promise!
Until then, live long and prosper!
